The spirit is then distilled again in Scottish-style, but Indian-made, 5,000-litre copper spirit still with a boil ball. The result is a lightly peated whisky with a complex oaky aroma and chocolate fudge sweetness on the palate. For this reason most of the Amrut single malts are released at around 4 years old - which taste wise are akin to much older whiskies from cooler countries, such as Scotland or Ireland.

The distillery initially tried importing staves to save money, but abandoned the practice due to the smell of the barrels. In Indian mythology, when the gods and rakshasas (demons) churned the ocean using the mountain Meru, a golden pot sprang out containing 'Amrut' – the elixir of life. A rich, smoky Indian single malt whisky matured for 10 years and finished in an ex-rum cask, before being bottled in October 2019.

To retain the natural character of this oak aged Indian Malt Whisky it is not chill filtered and is bottled in its natural colour. With a name that translates as 'thrice', Triparva showcases the experimental zeal of the Bangalore-based Amrut. The palate has a touch of smoke from the peated barley which develops on to caramel, honey, cereal barley notes with salty minerals. The whisky is generally aged for four-and-a-half years, although it may be higher for some variants. This whisky is made from selected Indian barley grown at the feet of the Himalayas, nurtured by the waters flowing there and cultivated by old and traditional agricultural practices. The nose has aromas of vanilla, citrus, raisins and malted barely with a touch of saline minerality.

The water used in the manufacturing process is transported to the distillery by truck from a well, 15 miles (24 km) away, in a pesticide-free agricultural area owned by the company.
