Following on from Stormbird, the Sunday Times best-seller, Trinity is the second book in his superb new series set during the Wars of the Roses, a remarkable period of British history. The emperor series, and now the War of the Roses constrains that imagination with the wealth of history that exists, the sheer volume of detail and information that the author has to be bound to or be crucified by the reading history buffs. The Duke of Suffolk is the scape goat for the loss of Normandy and is presented as one who has no greater ambitions and is just trying to do his duty to his King and Country. The series is based around the life of Julius Caesar, from childhood ( The Gates of Rome) to his eventual betrayal and death ( The Gods of War).

During his journey to France, he is waylaid by a pirate ship, commissioned by Richard, who kill William. If you know the history you know that this is a resounding win for Edward ending with the utter defeat of Henry’s forces, and leaving England with one strong king and thousands of dead bodies. I do miss the camaraderie of the smokers’ room, as well as the lessons where their faces lit up as they understood what I was wittering on about. As storm clouds gather over England, King Henry and his supporters find themselves besieged abroad and at home. It will appeal to those who enjoy action-packed, high-octane novels with lots of battles and information on strategy. UK Hardback First Edition FirstPrinting 2014 with Waterstone's War of The Roses exclusive short story.

Anyone who has met him will have experienced the presence he brings to a room, one i find he brings to the fore in the conqueror series more than the emperor one. With a weak leader and men who help the king lead making things worse, the common people take it the hardest and they decide to do something about it.What attracted me to this book is my love for The Game of Thrones television series and having been compared to same topic and theme as Game of Thrones and The White Queen I had to find out more. I often find that if you ask an Iggulden fan what their favorite book is, there is a clear divide between those who love the Emperor series and those who love the Conqueror series.

This is due to him being able to get deep into the mindsets, providing them with a sense of grounding quite unlike any other, making sure that they stay in the reader’s mind long after they’ve put the book down. The Earls of Salisbury and Warwick make up a formidable trinity with Richard, and together they seek to break the support of Henry. Henry needed a truce with France and it was up to men who he could trust to make sure this happened.I think for me, not having a thorough knowledge of this period, perhaps I wanted more detail about the characters and why they were choosing certain paths. Intact clean condition pictorial dust jacket with slight creasing to edges, slight signs of handling.
