Skullcandy’s stated battery life of over 50 hours is presumably with ANC disabled, but even with it on, I easily got more than a week out of them before they needed charging. I like this level of customization, especially because you can reset everything to the default layout with a single press.

It’s reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro plastic, and although less prone to dust collection, it does pick up fingerprints. The WH-XB910N has better ANC, but it doesn’t isolate high-pitched sounds quite as well as the Crusher ANC 2.However, if you're looking for a more substantial sound experience, personalized options, haptic feedback and some of the best sounding Skullcandy's we've tried, it's certainly worth taking a look at the Crusher ANC if you feel comfortable springing for the extra cost. Whether your own hearing is insufficient to register these tones or bustling background sounds have overshadowed them, the degree of accuracy of these tests certainly comes into question. Get ready to experience the patented, skull-thumping power of Crusher Sensory Bass - now combined with the ultimate audio customisation of Personal Sound. For me, the Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2 is a fun pair of headphones that doesn't appear to take itself too seriously. The result of an extremely exaggerated bass is, of course, a more spongy frequency image that tends to swallow up any subtle nuances.

For reference, I wore the Crusher ANC 2 with sunglasses for over an hour walking in approximately 27 degrees Celsius weather, and yes, it was hot, but so was the environment. With that said, if you’re a bass head, consider the Crusher mode as a challenge, granted, one where the novelty wears off quickly. I couldn’t hear every single thing he was doing or him talking to me, but I could hear rustles of packets, clinks of spoons and cupboard doors shutting. Each earcup houses vibration motors that activate in time with the music’s bass notes to create a more visceral audio experience by adding physical sensations to auditory ones.

Make no mistake, the Sony WH-1000XM4 offers a better overall audio performance for roughly the same money. Skull-iQ IS a powerful technology that runs innovative voice features and enables new upgrades via the Skull-iQ App. If battery life and design materials aren't your biggest concern, however, these bass-heavy headphones will literally rattle your skull and keep outside noise at bay with ANC. The companion Skull-iQ app for iOS and Android allows you to assign and reassign functions to each button – some can support multiple functions depending on how many times you press them.Walking along a busy road, the Crusher ANC 2 cut out a respectable level of the background droning, but those tricky higher pitches still managed to worm their way through.
